PRINT BOOKS AND AUDIO-VISUAL MATERIALS -
No username or password is needed to search for print books and audio-visual resources housed in the Ann Whitney Elementary (AWE) Library. The AWE Library database is combined with the Hamilton Junior High Library in the same search, so watch the location codes to know where each book is actually stored.  FOLLETT DESTINY DISCOVER E-BOOK LIBRARY - Ann Whitney Elementary students may click here to login to our Follett Destiny Discover eBook Library using the same username and password that you use to login to the district network or the AR program. Hamilton ISD faculty and staff have personal eBook login information that may be obtained by contacting the librarian at kkrueger@hamiltonisd.org. If you are a guest, you may login to our eBook resource using the username = hamisd and password = students and your access will be limited with no check out features available. HISD teachers have access to a shared document providing the names of all Follett eBooks with text-to-speech capabilities.

All of the following online resources require a login that is specific to our school. Click on the name of each resource to get to the log in screen. An Online Services Brochure in your campus library will provide all usernames and passwords for each resource listed below, or you may contact kkrueger@hamiltonisd.org to have a brochure shared with you online.
 
WORLD BOOK DIGITAL RESOURCES provides a premium package of reliable, easy to use material that will aid students in getting school assignments accomplished in record time! A Spanish resource center is also available once logged in to the HISD World Book online resource package.
 
BRITANNICA DIGITAL RESOURCES – Once logged in, you may select the level of learning that you prefer. Britannica is a comprehensive encyclopedia with primary source documents and lessons to help all learners and teachers get the most reliable information available anywhere on the web.
BRITANNICA LEARNING ZONE - Spend hours having fun exploring this resource full of games, exploration, and art!

 

GALE DIGITAL RESOURCES — Help with assignments is here! Once you log in, read the description of each database listed and decide which databases will help you most in your particular classes. National Geographic Kids is close to the bottom of the database list, and it is a favorite of many elementary students!
 
EBSCO DIGITAL RESOURCES — Try the Explora Primary Schools link within this group of EBSCO resources for the best elementary school resource material for research topics and homework help.

The AWE Library will not have every book listed on this site, but we do have many, many AR books to pick from. This website could be used as a planning tool for students wanting a book similar to another one they have previously read.

The AWE Library promotes programs such as the Texas Bluebonnet Award reading program for students in 3rd through 5th grades and the Accelerated Reader program to encourage reading at all levels. For more information about these programs you may visit the links below or contact our library staff at any time. Our goal is to foster a lifetime love of reading and give our students the key skills needed to search, analyze and think for themselves as lifelong learners.
